Dr Andrew Jackson is a researcher and social scientist with a professional background in the arts.
He is expert in research design, specialising in the development and implementation of robust evaluation frameworks with a particular focus on understanding the social and economic impact of the arts.

Using a range of research methods, I offer my clients robust evaluations of their exhibitions, projects and events, enabling them to understand and report on their impact and support their strategic planning.
As an independent arts consultant I am able to offer cost effective, flexible and responsive approaches to research and evaluation, with fast turn around times.

Previously the founding director of the COaST Arts Research Centre at Canterbury Christ Church University, my clients have included some of the leading arts organisations in south-east England, and I have designed and carried out evaluations for national projects funded by Arts Council England and the National Heritage Lottery Fund.

Understanding Social Value
A ground breaking project for Turner Contemporary in Margate using the Social Return on Investment methodology to measure the value of the social impact created by the gallery's complete portfolio of activity.
Great Place Scheme
The design and development of the evaluation strategy and framework for a major multi-institution project that was funded and delivered as part on the National Heritage Lottery Fund Great Place Scheme.
White Horses Whitstable
The development and project management of a unique Arts Council Funded collaboration between Canterbury Festival, Whitstable Yacht Club and contemporary artists from Kent.
Turner Prize 2019
The evaluation of the Turner Prize 2019 exhibition, including economic impact reporting, audience feedback, research and audience segmentation.
South London Gallery - evaluation mentoring
Working with South London Gallery to develop their evaluation capacity, including mentoring and staff training and meeting Arts Council England and National Heritage Lottery Fund reporting requirements.
Bell Square community cohesion research project
Developing innovative data collection methods for outdoor performance events in Bell Square, as part the Creative People and Places project for Hounslow.
